nothing much going on other than orientation, which i somehow have less enthusiasm for this semester. it must have something to do with having 4pm lectures. evenings make me lazy

on another note: officially banned from buying clothes. it appears i also have lost much interest in shopping for clothes (amazingly!) i should start clearing out my closet. and donate or sell them away.

few more days left before i'm dragged back to IMU, kicking and screaming along the way.

Well, it can't be THAT bad right?

It is for me. There are times i just feel so out of place there, i'll be looking forward to the moment where i can drive off away in my tiny little kancil. Then there are the boring lectures, where I'll be struggling not to fall asleep until my head throbs with pain. The same canteen food, day in, day out. The undescribable feeling of hopelessness, regret and despair that comes with each exam. It is weird that only IMU can make me feel so alone in a place crowded with students at times that I actually feel less alone when I'm physically actually alone in my bedroom.

But not all is lost. I have my fantastic friends there. I enjoy the moments I have with them. And I'm sure I'll be enjoying those future unforgetable moments that will soon come. And when i look back 5 years later, I'll be missing the good times I had in medical school and sorely wishing i could return to my medical school days, just like how i feel about my primary school days now.

Enough with the ranting. I'll soon begin my sem 4 next week as a 20 year old. Hahaha... that feels really old. And sem 4 is the honeymoon year, just like form 4. So hopefully it shall not be so stressful (stress levels can shoot up in sem 5). I hope PBL shall be as enjoyable as it was for me in sem 3, and i'm praying for good facis to come my way. I wish for things to improve, and maybe I can feel not so awkward in IMU.

Part 2! (scroll down for part 1 :D)

Met with ex-5adilians for lunch and dinner the next day!
Me with Xiaxun and Fang, opposite is Melissa with her Monash batchmates!
Ate icecream with them later too. Weirdly one of the better flavours there is durian. i have no idea why. Durian icecream in malaysia only can get from the ciplak icecream brand which taste like they used diluted cream to make their icecream. Not that i don't enjoy them still though :D

Me and my sis also went to the Flemington racecourse the next morning. They also have a gambling place nearby and there was this sign:
Haiz... gamblers.

Then we went over to Footscray park where they had a community centre/art gallery. Outside was a cafe and we had our Fisherman's? breakfast there.
See the ham, salami, lettuce, cheese, pickles and salsa. *salivate* I miss the big portions of australian serving
Hot chocolate!
Soy chai! Tea served with honey and fresh soy milk.

At night we went to a fusion Jap restaurant called Wabi Sabi near St Kilda beach

Cute deco. Real tree in the middle of the dining area.

Plum wine. Super nice :D

Fried squid
Main dish: Blue-eyed grilled fish with mashed potato+asparagus

Me with the dessert: Pear creme brulee with green tea ice cream. (this is becoming more like sook's food adventure in aussie)

The skyline in st kilda beach. We went there to see penguins but what the heck... obviously the penguins were sleeping. hahahaha. + It was too dark to see anything. My sis said the penguins were even smarter than us. They choose to sleep in the warm burrows while we idiots were wondering beside the sea at night during winter.

Next day was city day! Used the train there and arrived at Southern Cross station

Behind me is Etihad stadium. Pronounced as "Idiot" stadium by australians (seriously. i heard them annoucing the name on a tourist bus)

We went to DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) where you can find discounted items (from past season, or damaged goods, etc) from most major brands in the city. The super cheap items are usually defected though

Waiting for the tram after visiting DFO
We then went to the Royal Arcade where Koko Black is located (siao chen, are you salivating now?)
Me with my belgian spoil... kuahahhaha. delicious

Chocolates for sale. Each chocolate is about $2= rm6

More buskers. Yeen... you can keep this option open as an alternative if you need extra pocket money. ahahhahaa. i think he got quite a lot of coins that night

Then I got belanja-ed in a super nice fine dining restaurant- The Point in Albert Hill. It's something like my bday celebration since I was turning 20 at the stroke of midnight.
12am, 12th July 2009- me and my sis enjoying our desert of souffle.

On my bday, my sis brought me to St Kilda again to go see the craft market.
Luna park. $45/entry. I think Sunway Lagoon beats Luna park's ass anytime.

At the craft market! A lot of handmade stuff- soap, necklaces, mugs, clothes, bags, etc. One store was selling bangles made out of forks and spoon!

My sis!

Cute signboard in St Kilda beach

Jellyfish!

Random shot

Cutey pie
Posing under the bridge

Then we went to San Churros cause my sis wanted to belanja me their chocolate fondue.

The whole set

Super nice. U dip your churros, strawberry, bananas or pretzel cookie into the melted chocolate then u can coat with peanuts or popcorn. hahahaha. damn nice
Everybody wants to pet daisey

Then we went on to South Melb market.
My sister made me sit on this toy car T_T

Me and daisey!
We bought dips and cheese here.

I went out with xx again the next day to docklands then to crowne. (i know i prob missed a few places i went to. without photos..... i can't remember)
Weird statues at the port
At the ferris wheel (which wasn't functioning)

Beside Yarra? river
Me and xx

Camwhoring at the pesdestrian walk leading up to crowne hotel (super gigantica gambling area with a lot of super expensive restaurants located inside). Lots of drunkards and weird people along this road at night

Too bad we forgot to bring our passports (so we can proove that we were above 18 to enter the casino area) but we decided to just watch the fire show and enjoy a slice of cheesecake

Mars bar cheesecake. Chose this cause i know i won't find it here. hahaha. pretty sweet tho.

Fire show! It starts every hour with coordinated burst of flames from each "tower" lining the river edge
Super cool shot :D Fire in motion

Thus ends my post. Next one shall be about the Great Ocean Road (which sadly i don't have a lot of pictures of. I accidentally left the dvds containing those photos in aussie)

The Great Australian Adventure Post!

Ok, a long overdue post. All these pictures just covers the first few days of my trip there. ahahahaa. The elective posting i'm doing right now in GHKL is draining the life out of me so I don't know if i can even post up all the interesting pictures. Anyway... the show must go on!

Camwhoring in KLIA. Bored to death

Reached Australia in the morning (7am) where we had to line up for customs. My officer was very very cincai. I even got away with a packet of MAS peanuts in my bag (by accident. i didn't even want it actually) and I forgot to open a bag of foodstuff to show the officer.
It was pretty cold there but not horrible-i-want-to-die cold.

Some monument nearby the Moonee Ponds (the suburb where my sis lives in) library

Ikea meatballs + the weird blue thing you see behind!! My first meal in Australia! Meatballs= yummm. Weird blue thing= ughhhhh

Then the next day we went to Victoria market. the biggest market in Vic!
A shop selling Australian souvenirs.

A cafe nearby the market

Borek (something like pita bread filled with vege+ beef)! Bought in Vic Market. $2.50 supposedly but due to miscalculation and my own blurness I got this for 60 cents. hahahahaa

My sis's australian pizza. Notice the egg. yummm

Cappucino i think :D

Florals on sale. the price 0_0

A street performer (plenty in Aus). She pretends to be a statue that's all (pretty easy eh? but try standing still for extended periods of time :P Anyway... i prefer buskers to well and healthy beggers.) . But it's pretty cool cause she will "strike a pose" each time someone tosses a coin in her "well"

Streets of Melb from my sister's Yaris

Introducing... my sister and her dog, daisey (btw pls go vote for daisey here)! This was a park near the house where me and sister went for a preview (preview= potential house buyers can walk around the house to see if its suitable).

Grafitti in Melbourne. A lot of grafitti there and some pieces are just... fantastic. Me and my sis actually saw a group of guys+girls spray painting a wall. And some of the walls takes days/weeks to finish. Not like our malaysian grafitti (a lot of stupid statements like: "I was here". wth)

Hahahaha. the place where we bought some fabric :D Featured in Project Runway australia!!! I can just imagine the participants running around in that warehouse looking for the perfect fabric

Now, meet my sister's pets:Benny- the spayed male cat. Super friendly and clumsy + fat. cats are supposed to be nimble but you can hear benny climbing up and down the stairs everyday.

Charlotte- The super naughty kitten. Hates to be held but comes to sleep with you in the middle of the night. Sold away though cause it was getting too naughty for my sis to upkeep.

Snuffles (above) and Monkey (below)- My sister's rats who has been with her for 1 yr+ already. They know their own names :D Snuffles is the fatter and more violent one. Monkey is the dumbo.

Finally, Kisa! The Siberian cat. Super fluffy and gentle. But likes to run away from people cause it's still not sociable.

And also Daisey, which was mentioned above.

So on the 2nd day after Vic market, we went to the fabric store near Brunswick and I got my winter jacket (my sister was fed up with me wearing a suit everywhere) We also went to the national library :D

Statue in front of the National Library

Then we settled down for the night and had a pizza movie night :D
Antepasto pizza from Crisp Pizza:D

To be continued...... (i'm sure i missed out a lot of the places we visited. stupid memory)
